Dr Joseph K Joseph is a highly experienced Internist and Diabetologist from the state of Kerala. He passed his MBBS in 2006 from Tribhuvan University Nepal. He worked for two years as an ICU Medical Officer in Ernakulam Medical Centre before joining for Post Graduate Studies at Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore. He passed out in 2014, and since then, has worked for prestigious Hospitals in Kerala, like Amala Institute, Aster Medcity, and Rajagiri Hospitals. Some of the Hospitals were Kerala’s first JCI accredited Hospitals. In August 2016, he initially joined VPS Lakeshore as a Specialist in Internal Medicine, and in December 2017, he was promoted to Consultant and Unit Head of Internal Medicine at VPS Lakeshore.
During his stint at Lakeshore, he was responsible for making popular the newer Diabetes Drugs like Degludac Insulin Sglt2 inhibitors and Glp1 agonists. Awareness for newer Molecules was less due to high costs, but Dr. Joseph was responsible for demonstrating lower Sugars and lesser Insulin Units when newer Drugs were used. For his efforts he was nominated for the BMJ South Asia awards Semifinal for Healthcare Innovation of the Year. He also widely appeared in the Media to spread Awareness on Diabetes Health Tips and the importance of Physical Exercise. He has been published in the Indian Express six times and in The Week magazine four times, along with the Manorama Newspaper.
In 2020, the pandemic struck India and for two years, during which time he was the Deputy Nodal Officer for Covid at VPS Lakeshore for two years, saving over 600 Covid-affected lives. For his efforts, he was recognized by the Management and featured in most major News Channels. In 2022, he took a brief break to work with Olive Hospitals at Hyderabad for Incretin Therapy research.
His first UAE stint was in Sep 2023 with the esteemed Zulekha hospitals Dubai. In 2024 November he took up his new responsibility at Aster clinics business bay.
